A Little Get Away

From August 7-9th this summer, Jack and I packed up and took our baby and mothers for a little getaway at the Chesapeake Resort and Spa. I heard some good things about the hotel, so we decided to give it a shot. Our moms have been taking care of Preston, and cooking dinners for us all summer, so we wanted to say thanks! Also, the hotel was only about 1.5 hours from our house, which we liked. We packed light and had ourselves a fun relaxing few days.

Jack was super sweet and surprised all the moms, including myself, with massage appointments at the spa. The spa was wonderful and I think much needed by the moms (I could use a massage everyday really). When I am rich, I want a spa room in my house and have a personal masseuse, I am so serious about this. Anyways, thank you babe for your thoughtfulness.

The trip was a success!....wait..until we realized Jack forgot his laptop in the hotel room closet. Luckily, we were only on the road for 20 minutes before he realized it.

The peaks of the trip were: spa, crab feast for $24.99 (where I ate a record 14 crabs and Jack ate 22 crabs), watching my mom play for a good 15 minutes (maybe more) with just a dollar at the penny slot machines at the hotel, and eating peaking duck on the way home, and of course, spending quality time with the family.

The pits were when Preston overheated on the North Beach boardwalk, the over crowded water park, and the awful bug bites I got at the outdoor concert. I still have scars from the darn mosquitos.

All in all, I am glad we went, but I probably wouldn't go back, mainly because there wasn't a lot to do around the hotel. Perhaps, I'd go back for the crabs, but the amount of time we spent there was just enough.

6 Months Already!

Time has flown and my baby is now 6 months old! He's able to sit briefly unsupported, as shown in the photo below. Also, he finds random things funny these days. Like today, he laughed at the sight of Paris! She's been around since he was 1 month old..and now he's just showing some sort of interest in her, poor thing.

In the last few days, I just noticed that Preston has taken an interest in people, other than those who are around him everyday. He'd speak baby gibberish to them and give them his winsome smile. Last weekend, Amy came over and Preston was on his A game, such a flirty babe. He's becoming more and more fun by the day. His personality is coming out. I suppose that's why I haven't been blogging as much, having too much fun with him to write about it! Here's the little guy tonight. Happy 6 months Preston!
