First Halloween

This Halloween, I rushed home a little earlier than usual so I could spend some extra time with Preston. We didn't have any plans to go trick-or-treating or go to a party, but we just wanted to dress him up in his costume, and snap some pictures while waiting for trick-or-treaters. Our little dragon baby dressed up as a dragon! I could not think of any other costume that would be more appropriate for him this year.

Preston didn't mind the getting dressed part..but..when it came time to don on the dragon head..oh boy did he have a fit! I guess the lessons are: 1) don't waste money again on a silly costume that he doesn't even like and will wear for less than an hour 2) get a costume where the head is attached to the body so he could wear it like a hoodie, which he doesn't mind. The head was a little big on him too, so the dragon's snout covered his eyes, and of course he didn't like that. We got a few good pictures though and a little narration to go with them. Enjoy!

Preston with everything but the dragon head on...grandma is holding him still while I wait for the right moment to put it on.

It stayed on for 2 seconds before his hands shot up and yanked the head off, and banged it on the floor a few times, as if he was trying to kill it!

I tried to show him how fun it is to wear the hat, but Preston only found it fun-ny when it was on me. That hat was big, it fit my me pretty well! How do they expect a baby's head to fit it?!?

Preston got a break from me harassing him with the hat, so he laughed while I said, "no boots!" to entertain him.

The little dragon ready to take off!

The best picture we got all night..unfortunately, daddy's legs are in the background..:/ but who cares! all you can focus on is that cute face!

Uh oh...the fiery of the dragon is awakened!

Baby dragon is so mad! He really does hate it. Boo...

Happy First Halloween anyways Preston! We love you, as you can see....:)

Preston Goes Pumpkin Pickin'

One nice Saturday fall afternoon, auntie Julie was visiting and we all took a trip to Butler's Orchard to pick pumpkins. Little did we know that there was a Pumpkin Festival going on as well, so we drove our way in and here's what we did:

We Are the Incredibles!

For the past few Halloweens, Jack and I have been dressing up in 'couples' costumes. Last year when I was pregnant with Preston, we were Juno and the nerdy 'boyfriend.' Needless to say, we wanted to continue the tradition this Halloween with our little man.

So, after thinking about it for awhile, the Incredibles was a front runner. Jack loved the idea and I got to work finding out how to make the costumes online. Thanks to Pinterest, I found another mother's blog that included step by step instructions and even the Incredibles logo template. It was a fun sewing project and I think our costumes turned out great! We had a great time wearing it to Loan's birthday party tonight!

8 Months Old

Another month has passed and Preston is now 8 months old! You are truly sitting like a pro now and pivoting in all directions from a sitting position. Your bottom two teeth started coming out at 7.5 months old and they're slowly, but surely making their way up. It hurts when you bite us now ;) Nevertheless, we still love you and are so happy to have you in our lives. Happy 8 months little baby.

Little Bun Loves Buns

For Preston's 8 months bday celebration, the families had dinner together. We discovered that you love to eat buns! You were very aggressive and grabbed daddy's duck bun and directed it into your mouth. We ended up giving you a bun and you happily sucked, gnawed, and chewed on it all evening, by the time we left the restaurant there were only bits and pieces left in your little hands. You are a big eater little guy, and no doubt, a Shandong baby. Your daddy grew up eating buns too haha :)
